The second ETRA up-cycle workshop was held on 9 November 2018 in Rome, in co-operation with ANTEL, IFME, University of Rome Torvergata, Lazio Innova, Politecnico of Turin, and ARGO.
The workshop was designed to illustrate the many current and potential uses of Recycled Tyre Materials (RTMs) in an array of materials and products highlighting their flexibility and high performance in a range of public sector applications. The programme brought together individuals and companies from tyre recycling and end-user sectors with researchers from Universities and experts from various fields, with the goal of stimulating discussions on new product development, research projects and cooperation as well as potential projects for funding submissions.
Presentations covering topics focusing on roads, buildings, new materials, among others, were made, stimulating the discussion about new technologies, developing markets, new partnerships and projects for the upcoming EU Funding Calls for 2018-2020.
Lazio Innova, the EEN agency in Rome, explained how they can assist in the creation of start-up companies and take advantage of a series of services offered through their incubators. ETRA presented the opportunity of the ESEE programme and the Partner Registry as initial ‘idea steps’.
41 people from 11 countries on 4 different continents attended, bringing their experience and willingness to cooperate. Several new companies applied to become ETRA members in order to take better advantage of the opportunities available.
A spring weather welcomed us in a fascinating historic venue, giving the possibility to people to enjoy a marvelous city after the event.
Thank you to ANTEL and to all participants for the successful workshop and the good job together.
