The Annual FSB FAIR was held in Koln from 7 to 10 November and ETRA had a stand throughout the event.
FSB is the most important international fair for sport facilities and surfaces. One entire hall was dedicated to artificial turf. Here, all of the operators are acutely aware of the potential for recycled SBR to be used in different ways for the various sport surfaces: infill material, elastic layers, under-layer for parquet, rubber tiles for fitness and gym facilities, play-grounds, and many other sport related surfaces. Rubber is the common element of many different surfaces: grass, flooring and other pavements. It was impressive to see in how many ways it is used and valorised.
Delegates traveled from many points around the world. They included hundreds of architects, community planners, operators and investors, as well as important national and local decision-makers from municipalities, sport clubs and associations – whoever is looking for solutions for sports and leisure infrastructure and management amenity areas, playgrounds, sports or public pool facilities. They all came to Koln in November for four of the most important trade-fair days. FSB was the centre of attention for the different sectors that want to create and improve business throughout the world.
ETRA participated for the duration manning the stand, touring other stands and briefly networking - and holding meetings with many recyclers from around the world. Tyre recycling has become a global industry as has the sport sector, with which there is a natural symbiosis, and expanding co-operation. It was interesting to meet some new operators who will join the Association. It was the occasion to meet again with a number of ETRA affiliate organisations such as IASLIM and others.
