23rd European Tyre Recycling Conference
The conference, attended by 130 delegates was hailed an overwhelming success and touched on all of the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector in the coming years.
From start to finish this event marked the ongoing success of tyre recycling as a model to follow for the Circular Economic Model. Issues covered ranged form the latest developments in pyrolisis, devulcanisation and micronisation, through rubber in concrete, rubberised asphalt and the future direction of the tyre recycling industry.
There was discussion on whether the goal of the the Circular Economy was sufficient or whether the industry should be looking to close the loop and put tyre rubber back into tyres.
The conference also heard from the EC on routes to funding through Horizon 2020 and taking the projects intitialised through Horizon 2020 through to the next stage of development and commercialisation.
