RE-PLAN CITY LIFE project made a step in Rome at the 16th edition of Buygreen Forum, the main Italian event on GPP for the Public Administration.
The event was held on 19 and 20 October, organized by Fondazione Ecosistemi, who is partner in the project.
The relevance of the event is well expressed by the figures of the forum:
+ Over 2400 participants
+ 270 organisations
+ 26 events
+ 200 speakers
+ 10 training sessions
ETRA together with some partners attended and took part to a lively session in which the project was presented as well as the main uses of Recycled Tyre Materials (RTMs).
Special attention was given to an innovative application of recycled steel fibers in concrete developed under the GreenDealles project (funded under Metabuilding) presented by Ir. Barbero from company Botta Prefabbricati. The test done showed that the performance of the concrete Predalle with recycled steel fibers are higher than a traditional ones, and the environmental foot print is much lower then traditional ones.
Another interesting topic was the recycled rubber granulate used for infill material on which by Professor Bono of University of Turin made a clear and effective environmental balance explaining how risks are evaluated from scientific point of view which is quite different from simplified, groundless and emotional fear of common people about healthiness on recycled materials often based on wrong opinions.
One of these is the risk on which have been based the decision and the ongoing process to ban the infill materials which classified rubber granulate as microplastics.
The workshop put together speakers and participants from both private and public sector, who discussed about the opportunity deriving from GPP could impact on tyre recycling. Among the speakers we are pleased to recall:
- Sabina Nicolella, Fondazione Ecosistemi
- Maria De Gregorio, Fondazione Ecosistemi
- Sergio Saporetti, Ministry of Ecological Transition
- Cristiana Avenali, Lazio Region
- Giulia Tambato, Veneto Region
- Luca Natale, Liguria Region
- Gianluca Cocco, Sardinia Region
